Annen Design Industies was hired to develop a distinct identity for this fledgling local chain of restaurants. Working closely with the clients we created a dining atmosphere that is both convivial and dignified. Logo image, artwork, colors and materials, seating types and lighting were all discussed and distilled into a recognizable whole that is 'Pastini'.

This south and west-facing single-story space required a solution to welcome neighbors and repel heat gain. We devised an entrance and exterior program composed of pyrocanthus-planted screens, overhead trellises set against an amber stucco exterior and inviting red entry doors. Custom amber glass light shields suspend from floating ceilings and raised booths offer a feeling of multiple levels within one room. The kitchen is revealed to the dining area across a long pick-up counter.
